Settings

The DAEnetIP1 app uses the standard Settings app on iOS to manage the basic network settings so that it can communicate with the hardware controller remotely over the Internet. To set/change the network settings, go to the built-in Settings on the iOS device then open up the DAEnetIP1 settings.

Network Address

The actual IP address of the hardware controller or a domain name that resolves to the correct address.

Port Number

The TCP port that the controller listens on

Network Password

The SNMP community string

 

How to name the buttons and gauges?

The DAEnetIP1 app reads the Description string assigned to each port on the controller and uses this string as the label of the corresponding button or gauge on the app’s screen. To set/change the labels, use the controller’s web interface to set the Description field for the corresponding port. Be mindful not to use names that are too long to fit on the app’s screen.

 

How to tell if a port is on or off?

The DAEnetIP1 app uses icons to indicate ports that have been turned on. A quick tap on a button will toggle the corresponding port on or off.

 

What are those little red bubbles with a number in it?

Those are badges that indicate there is a delay timer set for the corresponding port. With a timer set on a port, if toggled the port will automatically revert its status back after N seconds. N being the number in the badge.

 

How to set/change the delay timer?

You can set the timers on the ports via the controller’s web interface or you can set them directly in the app. Do set/change the timers in the app, set a finger on the corresponding button then slide the finger in any direction until a slider bar comes up. Then use the slider to set the timer’s value for the corresponding port. Zero is to disable the timer and remove the badge from the button.

 

How to refresh/sync the app’s status with the controller?

The app will automatically refresh/sync with the controller every time when it’s launched. Users can force a refresh by switching the between the tabs.

DAEnetIP3 Android Application Just Released – August 28, 2013

iSwitch, LLC just released the new DAEnetIP3 Android Application today.  Because the documentation will not be ready until mid September, it has not been announced on the website.  If folks want to purchase the new release, the link to the application on Play Store is

NOTE: DAEnetIP3 Firmware has a RC4 Encryption bug that will be fixed by the manufacturer, Denkovi Assembly Electronics LTD, in the new version 2.0.0 firmware release for fall 2013.  The Android Application has been tested with the new firmware version 2.0.0 and all functions work correctly.

How to connect Android Device to the DAEnetIP2 using WiFi

  1. The DAEnetIP2 must have an assigned IP address on your local area network. The default “out of the box” IP is 172.16.100.2, so, for example, if your router’s local area network is 192.168.0.1 then the DAEnetIP2 must be assigned an IP of 192.168.0.ABC where ABC is any number between 2 and 255 inclusive.  Be sure there is no other device sharing the IP with the DAEnetIP2.  A good test is to connect to the board from your computer’s web browser.  Example: If the DAEnetIP2 IP is 192.168.0.55 then you would key into your web browser http://192.168.0.55 and you should get the logon screen for the board.
  2. Next, turn the Smartphone’s WiFi radio to ON (you must have a wireless access point or wireless router for your phone to connect via WiFi to your local network).  Now use the Smartphone’s Web Browser and connect as described in step 1 above. If you cannot connect in this way, either the Smartphone WiFi is not correctly set up and connected to your local network, or the DAEnetIP2 IP address is not correctly set.  When you are able to connect via the Smartphone’s Web Browser, then we know the Smartphone and board settings are correct.
  3. Next start the Relay Board application, go to the About Screen, touch the Smartphone’s Menu button and then touch Settings. On the Settings Screen, touch Network Address(URL). Now enter the IP address of the board. Using the example above, you would enter 192.168.0.55  Be careful not to have any leading or trailing spaces in your entry.  The Port Number must also match the DAEnetIP2 port number, the default is 161 for both the controller and the software.  Last is the password, which corresponds to the SNMP read-write community string on the controller. The default community string (Password) is “private” and is case sensitive.  You should now be able to connect from your Smartphone Relay Board Application to the DAEnetIP2 controller.
